After 15 years of living with the natural world, Scott Vernon founded the non-profit Sustainable Homestead Institute to inspire leaders in sustainable development, ecological land design, and nature reliance education.

The campus sits on over 250 acres of serene southwest Virginia farmland close to the Blue Ridge Parkway. The installations and natural beauty of our campus allow students from all around the world to better understand our common connection to the Earth.
